One Word for 2016

Rather than make resolutions, I chose the word move to be my compass for 2015. While it was inspired by a need for a bigger home, that wound up being the one area where I didn’t move, partly because I travelled a lot more than I expected. Cycling continued to be an important part of my spring/summer as I trained for a week of cycling in Scotland and I wound up cycling three metric centuries in the process. By changing projects at work, I even had a move there.

While move was a good compass for 2015, it lacked quality. What am I moving toward? Why? In all the areas where I moved, I wound up happier and having fun. Move was a good start, but I wasn’t growing. Therefore, my One Word for 2016 will be thrive.  When I am thriving, I am moving, learning, building, creating and helping. I may need to take care of some things that are not fun, but that is just part of the process. If my one word to summarize the year is thrive, then 2016 will be an excellent year.

If you were to choose a word to summarize your resolutions and/or be your compass for the year, what would it be?
