One of the things I love about Montreal are the beautiful doors and stairs. The wooden doors are often a bright pop of color either as an offset to neutral brick and stone or as part of an unconventional color palette. My favorite stairs are the gorgeous wrought iron ones that wind steeply up to second- and occasionally third-floor apartments.

I started photographing doors and stairs around Montreal my first Spring in the city. Over the years I have compiled quite an album, representing most of the neighbourhoods around the metro lines. The gallery below are only a few of my favorites.
